What you would tell others about your Valdora bike:
I've been on the Valdora for 2 years; it is by
far the most comfortable frame I have ever owned -
example: I was able to ride over 1000 miles in 9 days
last month with no biomechanical/physical injury - my
Valdora helped absorb the bumps in the road while still
giving quick, responsive feedback. My Valdora descends
very well; I am not afraid to stay in the aero position
on long descents - no shaking or wobble. My Valdora
climbs very well; there is no loss of power when doing
either a standing or sitting climb - all the power goes
in to the forward direction. My Valdora looks awesome.
I get lots of comments about the carbon weave and
internal cable routing as well as the oval top tube. I
especially like the oval top tube - it allows me to keep
my knees in close to the frame without banging them on
the top tube.
2009 Results:
TriZoo - elite division (sprint race in Columbia). I
had the third fastest bike split (behind Andrew
Starkowitz - 1st pro off of the bike in Clearwater, and
Simon Lessing - only two seconds slower than Simon). I
got fourth overall in a sprint finish for third (I
didn't win the sprint finish...).
Quartermax (1000y swim/ 27mi bike/ 6.2 mi run). I won
this race on the bike - I had the fastest bike split by
2:56 - I averaged 26.0 mph over the 27 mile course and
entered T2 with a 5:50 lead over 2nd place (Ted Z). I
was able to cruise the run which was good because I have
a sore achilles tendon and was unsure if I would even be
able to run at all.
Evergreen
Lake Triathlon, Hudson, IL, swimming and biking hard,
then going very easy on the run. I had the
second-fastest bike split (:57.07) less than 1 minute
behind Andrew Starykowicz (first PRO off of the bike at
Clearwater 70.3 worlds) and over 1 minute ahead of Brian
Rhodes (NZ pro and IM champ).
Best Of the US: I placed 9th overall. I had the
fastest bike split again 57:37. The only guy to go
under 1 hour last year at this race was XXXXXX (a
French pro). Long Horn 70.3 Austin - 35th
4:20:55 (35th Male Over All)
